Here’s the latest in full color, brazenly cracked, scam email letters we have yet to receive.

Perhaps this crackpot thinks the seal of the USA Embassy Service will make it look official, as will the name and photo (withheld since it was hot linked from Google images) of someone, supposedly a US Embassy Officer.

It is a Nigerian type scam mail piece. Look and learn. You would have to be a bigger crackpot than the author to answer such a blatant and obvious scam.

Sad fact is some do. Too bad… Hope it is not you!

WebLoyalty Still At It!

June 9th, 2008 · No Comments · Public Interest

We reported on WebLoyalty and their scams on other websites in 2005, but they appear to not only still be in business, they seem to be making more money than ever.

They do it, of course, through the greediness of their witting, or unwitting accomplices (perhaps witless?). They “Kickback” a portion of their earnings to the websites that they convince to carry their seemingly beneficial services of Coupons, extra Discounts and so on.

They evidently have delivered enough token benefits to those who “buy” their services, that they can stand forthrightly up and proclaim they are “honest” businessmen. Yeah! Sure!

Enough people have gotten wise and even Class Action Law Firms are now in the act. I don’t think they provide much return to those injured, but they do help put a crimp into the scammer’s businesses so that their profits are reduced, or so one would think.

At least they are going after the scammer’s accomplices as well as the bad guys themselves. Here’s some recent web links and headlines from ConsumersAffairs’ websites telling the a small sample of the stories of right and justice in the American way.

BTW, IOHO, The ConsumersAffairs Top Ten Scams should be required reading by every consumer! (To think, WLI is really small fry, they didn’t even make the top 10 in 2007!)

Consumer complaints about Classmates.com

can use. The woman my husband and I spoke to at WLI Reservations stated that they would refund all of our money, no problem. Now

URGENT ATTENTION for “next of kin”

June 8th, 2008 · No Comments · Banks, Media, Public Interest, Web, YANL

This is more like it. We are back into the traditional YANL Spam Scam type of letter.

Funny how it seems refreshing to know that merely old spam hands are at the keyboard sending these out to unwitting email readers instead of slick, Internet-savvy Europeans who are more obvious in their pitches and seem at first look to be almost real.

IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE REAL, IT AIN”T!!

They hope you will reply, of course.

Let the sheer volume of letters we have collected here as samples of this long standing scam provide the evidence for you to label all these and similar sounding emails as SPAM. That’s what they are.

If you reply, you are then getting into the second stage where it becomes a pure SCAM!

FOU YOUR KIND ATTENTION (Foo on YARL?)

June 7th, 2008 · No Comments · Banks, Media, Public Interest, Web, YANL

At Last! The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming into the YANL spam scam game.

Maybe we should already rename it the YARL, for Yet Another Russian Letter!

Same Pitch. Same dumb appeal to greed. Similar misunderstanding of the English language

If I were a Nigerian, I’d be insulted.

But we only have the YANL category, so, that’s where this copy goes.

We hope yours goes into the Spam Bucket, where it rightfully belongs.

A BMW + One Million Great British pounds -WOW!

June 4th, 2008 · No Comments · Media, Uncategorized, Web

Too Good To be True?

Of course it is. It’s a scam hook email of the Lottery type, an offshoot of the Nigerian Letter except you won something! (NOT!!)

Just send them your info and they’ll likely try to scam you out of your resources.

Don’t fall for these crappy scam letters and emails. Assert yourself. Rate them as spam in your email filter, or post a new one here to share with others so they won’t be duped as easily as a three ear old, or just plan DELETE ASAP!

(By the way, I never heard of a Great British pound, unless they really meant Dog Pound.. so dumb, must have been written by an illiterate.)
